About us
Taekwondo
The Korean art of the hand and the foot — and one of only two martial arts contested at the Olympic Games.
Taekwondo is Korea's national martial art, practiced by tens of millions of people worldwide. The name breaks down simply: tae (to strike with the foot), kwon (to strike with the hand) and do (the way). It is known for fast, powerful kicking, upright mobile footwork and a curriculum that treats character as seriously as technique.
Olympic-style training
We teach the World Taekwondo (WT) style — the same style contested at the Olympic Games. Students learn poomsae (forms), kicking and blocking technique, controlled sparring, and board breaking, progressing through colored belts toward black belt.
Kukkiwon certification
Students who earn a black belt with us receive certification recognized by the Kukkiwon — the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul. That certificate is the international standard, honored at schools and tournaments worldwide, and it stays with the student for life.
The five tenets
- Courtesy — respect for instructors, classmates and yourself
- Integrity — doing the right thing, especially when it's harder
- Perseverance — showing up on the days you don't feel like it
- Self-control — power is only martial art when it's controlled
- Indomitable spirit — refusing to be intimidated
These aren't posters on a wall for us. They're the standard we hold students to every time they step onto the mat.
